Becoming Narrowband compliant on your frequency and with your equipment is one thing.  A lot of people are starting to realize a couple other headaches than just the process of taking care of your own stuff.

1- The programming nightmare of every time someones frequency changes or they add/delete frequencies used. There will probably be a period where Interoperability almost goes out the window for some.  It all depends on when depts in a given area switch.  If one switches early and another waits til the last minute sort of thing.

2- Another issue that I have came across is getting answers in regards to the State Interoperability channels.  This includes everything from MABAS, MERCI, and the regional channels.  The State has put out a calendar of when these frequencies "must" and will be switched, but there is still some other issues that have not been addressed.  Especially regarding licensing.  We have asked but of course have not received an answer yet.

So my point is this...I know there are a lot of people out there that think that Narrowbanding is not going to be a big deal.  I highly encourage people to look into it and starting planning for it and to see how your dept/agency (and others around you) are going to handle it.  Then maybe it won't be such a big hassle.

Just my 2 cents.
