I thought I would take a moment to explain why Fire Tool Trader was started
I had been selling some excess equipment on E-bay to raise some money to buy more equipment, in doing so I realized how many departments there are who BADLY need equipment and have no budget to get it (I get e-mails daily from many of them)

I know there are many departments out there who have equipment that is either in storage or they just do not use anymore, This equipment could be so valuable to a department in need. I did a quick search across the net and could not find a site that could connect these 2 things so I decided to create this site.

After starting the site I got feedback from other firefighters who expressed that it would be great to not only have this but also the ability for firefirefighters from all over to connect with each other. So additional boards were created and even a chatroom created here on site.
Now for a few tips in getting the most from the site.

1. Go to your profile and atleast fill out your location so others know how far you are from them.
2. NEVER put your E-mail or personal information in a post here, you can click on the persons name and send a private message that only you and who you are talking too can read, you can view messages to you in the " My Messages" area in the menu of the board.
3. Don't be affraid to get involved and feel free to post in what ever area of the board you like.

I hope you enjoy Fire Tool Trader and as always I am open to comments and suggestions
