Like title stats im in need of a Cairns 1010. My volunteer dept use a type that I dislike. I was thinking of buying one, but in these times money is tight. I know some paid depts switch out every now and then so thought a paid dept would have some laying around.

Any how im more then happy to pay shipping cost.

Thanks.

P.s nice site. Found link on firehouse.

I know you are looking for free...and don't blame you.  However, if you do have to purchase one you might want to look at a Paul Conway.  I have a 1010 and love it.  But I have also bought a PC and loved it too.  They are cheaper and you get more for your money (bourkes, goggles, carved eagle etc).  Also, if you are set on Cairns look at the 1044.  It is the exact same helmet as the 1010 except it has a matte finish and is cheaper due to that.  I'm not trying to influence you in anyway...just thought might be able to help.

P.S. All of our guys that are buying their own helmets are going with the Paul Conways.

Thanks for info, I will look into it. I been looking around on some sites and the 1010 prices flex like crazy. I might take good old tax and buy a new one.

My old one had a run in with a tanker that backed on my helmet laying on turn out coat (on the side walk..).. Love probies Cheesy

http://www.paulconwayshields.com/store/index.asp

here is the site for Paul Conway, they range from 208-238 depending on options.  i know I paid more than that for my 1010 years ago.  Ebay is a good place to look for 1010's.
